Preparing Your Quilt For Longarming
Backing Size
Please ensure your backing fabric is 3-4 inches longer and wider on all sides of your quilt top. (example: if your quilt top measures 50x50 then your backing must be at least 56x56)
Threads
To ensure a smooth quilting process and a beautiful look, please trim off all excess threads from your quilt top.
Seams
Please press your quilt top and backing fabric seams flat. Also, check your quilt top for any damaged seams. Quick and minor repairs can be done in the shop but anything serious would result in a charge of $25/hr.
Basting
Please do not pre-baste your quilt. We will have to pull it apart to load onto the longarm machine.
Animal Fur & Fragrance
We all love our fur babies but please make sure there is no animal fur on your quiltop and backing fabric. If you pre-wash your fabric please do not use any heavy fragrances as these will transfer to other customer quilts.
Adhesives
Adhesives can (over time) gum up our machine so we ask that you please limit your use of adhesives.
