Shop Drop makes professional longarm quilting more convenient. Leave your quilt at a participating quilt shop, and Birdsbill Mercantile will coordinate pickup, quilting, and return to the same location.
There’s no need to mail your quilt or schedule a studio appointment. Simply bring your quilt top, backing, batting if supplying your own, and any pattern ideas to one of the participating shops listed below.
1. Choose a participating shop
Select the Shop Drop location that is most convenient for you.
2. Prepare your quilt
Bring your quilt top, backing, and batting if you are supplying your own. Your backing must extend at least 4 inches beyond the quilt top on every side.
Place everything together in a clean, disposable plastic bag. Please do not use a reusable tote, storage container, or bag that needs to be returned.
3. Complete the intake form
Fill out the Birdsbill Mercantile intake form available at the shop. You’ll choose your quilting service, batting, thread color, pattern preferences, and optional finishing services.
4. Leave your quilt with the shop
Give the completed intake form and bagged quilt to a staff member. The shop will safely hold everything for Birdsbill Mercantile’s next scheduled pickup.
5. We quilt and return it
We’ll email your final invoice to the address listed on your intake form. Once payment is received, your finished quilt will be returned to the same shop for pickup.
Choose the location that is most convenient for you. Shop Drop is available during each participating shop’s regular business hours. Additional locations will be added as the program grows.

After collecting your quilt, we’ll review the intake form and contact you if anything needs clarification. When the quilting is complete, your final invoice will be emailed to the email address listed on your intake form. We’ll notify you when your finished quilt is ready to pick up at the same shop.
